MOVING IMAGE
With our Cone Beam CT, it is possible, for the first time, to capture moving image of the maxillofacial district! Compared to the other CTs, which acquire static pictures only, we can provide dynamic images of the temporomandibular joint, swallowing and throat. By this way it is possible to obtain not only structural data but also very important functional information which may make it easier for the specialist to make the diagnosis.

The images produced by our CBCT are state of the art for quality and precision. Behind this performance, there are several factors: natural and stable patient position, perfect centring thanks to the two scout images (one antero-posterior and one latero-lateral) and most of all to an algorithm developed by NewTom, which makes it possible to reduce metal artifact caused by amalgams, implants and prosthesis.
HIGHEST SAFETY STANDARD
Thanks to the exclusive SafeBeamTM technology, it is possible to obtain the best image quality with minimum biological impact for the patient and for the operator. The machine, actually, at the time of scanning, calculates the radiation dose delivery according to the patient’s weight and structure, to prevent over-dosage risk. This function is particularly advantageous and remarkable in paediatric patients. In addition to this, the x-ray beam is emitted in a pulsed way, so that for the duration of 18 seconds examination the effective radiation exposition time is less than 5 seconds!

Our Cone Beam CT is that one wich nowadays has the widest range of acquisition volumes available, from the smallest 5x5 volume, suitable for a single tooth study, to the largest 24x19, essential for the study of the whole neck-maxillofacial district. Basically our CT is the only one designed for the simultaneous study of the teeth, the facial skeleton, the TMJ, the airways, the ear and the neck with just one acquisition. That’s why it is the most complete. In fact, in addition to meeting all the dentists’ requirements, it is essential also for orthodontics, maxillofacial surgery, otolaryngology, physiotherapy and cervical orthopaedics.

HOW DO YOU TAKE A CONE BEAM CT?
The patient’s in a standing
or sitting position,
biting a small bite.
The machine rotates around the patient for
15-20 seconds. The operator will adopt all
the precautions to minimise the X-ray dose.
The exam is performed by a Health Technician
of Medical Radiology and is
absolutely painless.
At the end of the procedure, the disc containing the exam
is handed over in 15 minutes and the report in 48 hours.

INDICATIONS
All the radiological exams are painless and do not present any particular contraindications. If you have any doubts, please ask for some further information to the specialized personnel.
IN CASE OF PREGNANCY
In case of pregnancy, the staff must be informed immediately. The exams we do have no negative impact during the nursing period.
PREPARATION
It is not necessary any preparation a part from the removal of temporary devices, removable dentures, necklaces, earrings, piercings and all the metal objects placed in the face area.
OBJECTS
It is not necessary to switch off the mobile phone or remove keys and wallet from your pockets.
